International students - study programme in English


J. A. Komensky College of Higher Education offers from the academic year 2006/2007 a new study programme in English designated to International students.  

BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION STUDIES FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS


Course Language: English

Description and Objectives:
The principal objective of the programme is to develop students' understanding of economics as well as related socio-scientific branches. The program focuses principally on gathering and developing practical knowledge and skills allowing for work in a wide variety of economic and administrative branches.
The core program of study includes, above all, the following subjects:
macroeconomics, microeconomics, finance, economic policy of the Czech Republic and the European Union, European integration, law, human resources, management, sociology, psychology, etc.

Profile of Graduates:

  1. Sound knowledge of economics, management, public administration and local self-administration;
  2. Ability to ensure qualified administration of funds;
  3. Ability to analyze economic phenomena and their application;
  4. Ability to ensure performance of organizational, informational and registration activities;
  5. Ability to ensure administration of the agenda within the scope of powers of individual cities and municipalities;
  6. Individual and team work on the professional level.
Possible Position of Graduates:
  1. In public administration;
  2. In European organizations (authorities and institutions administering operation of the European Union);
  3. In municipalities (authorities and institutions in individual regions);     
  4. In foreign companies operating in the Czech Republic and in Czech companies operating abroad.
Form of Study:
Full-time study programme.

Training:
Organized in economic sections of various companies and institutions.

Finals:
State final examinations comprise of an oral part (economics, public administration, economy and administration of the European Union, and management) as well as defending a final thesis - a bachelor's degree (Bc.) is awarded.
