4. General Practical Information for Students
4.1. International office
The International office helps students with the majority of their practical needs. The International office can be found in the building of UJAK in Roháčova 89 (click
here to see the map).
4.2. Library
Students can utilise the services of the UJAK library which is located in the basement of the Roháčova 63 building.

4.3. Computer Labs
UJAK offers students 110 computers that can be used for informational, study related and other purposes located in several labs. Students of UJAK can also use the university's wifi connection.
4.4. Accessibility
UJAK is currently not fully accessible for persons with disabilities; however, there is an accessible lavatory along with elevators that are available for persons with disabilities.
4.5. Accommodation
UJAK can arrange accommodation for international students in a dormitory provided by hotel Bridge (www.hotelbridge.cz). The accommodation is in units for two people. Every two units have a common bathroom. The rent is 4200CZK per person per month.

Students can also live in private accommodations. It is not very difficult to ensure such accommodation in Prague, but the prices are significantly greater than the prices for dormitory style accommodation. A 3-room apartment (2 bedrooms and a kitchen) located in the centre of Prague will cost around 15 000 Kč/month. Accommodation outside of the city centre will be somewhat less expensive.

4.6. Food
Students can make use of a number of restaurants located close to the campus or canteens that are offered by other schools. All the buildings of UJAK are equipped with beverage vending machines.
4.7. Medical Care
UJAK does not have a contract with any medical organisation. For arranging medical insurance required from international students by Czech law, UJAK recommends a certified agent.
Medical care is offered to students of UJAK the same as it is offered to Czech citizens. It is possible to utilise the student medical centres such as the University Medical Centre located at Spálená 12, 110 00 Prague 1, tel. 224 949 035. This
student medical centre provides diagnostic and medical care to all university students and has contracts to supply medical care with all the insurance companies in the Czech Republic.

4.8. Insurance
Before coming to the Czech Republic, the international students are obliged to obtain a health insurance covering the whole period of their stay in the Czech Republic.
4.9. Student Financial Support
Students can utilise the LLP programme, specifically the sub-programmes Erasmus and EHP/Norway for financial support for international exchanges. UJAK does not provide any scholarships or bursaries.
4.10. Cost of Living
The estimated monthly cost of living is about CZK 9 000, where approximately CZK 3 000 to 6 000 are required for basic needs, transportation is approximately CZK 250 to 300, accommodation is CZK 3 800 to 4 200, and CZK 700 to 1 000 in spending money. Cost of living depends on the students' requirements and standards.
4.11 Arrival in the Czech Republic
Students accepted to UJAK arriving to the Czech Republic should consult the International Relations Department for advice on transportation to the dormitories.
